Mission

Mission is where we engage others with the love of Jesus Christ. We believe that God’s incredible, unconditional love is meant to be shared – with all. We share this love by telling others about the good news of who Jesus is and what he has done for us, and by tangibly serving those in need.

Some of the ways we reach out to help others include:

Camp LivingStone

Every summer we host groups of youth and adults for a weeklong mission workcamp. We provide much needed repairs for the homes of families living throughout Putnam County. We paint, repair roofs, build ramps and decks, do cleaning, insulate, replace doors & windows – and whatever else might be needed. If your group is interested in serving alongside us, or if you are a homeowner who cannot afford and do needed repairs on your own home, go to our Camp LivingStone page for more information.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner

We take seriously the words Jesus spoke in Luke 14:12-14

Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed.

Every Thanksgiving, we serve over 600 meals to individuals and families throughout the area. A large group of volunteers from all over the community come together to peel, carve, mash, mix, cook, pour, bake, clean, serve and deliver meals.

Christian Community Cupboard

As part of a collaborative effort with other churches in the southern part of Putnam County, we help supply the funds, food, and volunteers to provide over 300 families a month groceries, baby food, and personal hygiene products. PCC provides workers for the Cupboard the first two weeks in June and the last two weeks in November.

Putnam Holiday Helpers

Another community ministry: churches, groups and individuals buy Christmas gifts and food baskets for families in need. Every Christmas, PCC sponsors several families in order to share the love we know in the gift given to us, the Lord Jesus.

ABRO – American Belarusian Relief Organization

Every summer, numerous PCC families host children from Belarus for six weeks. These children, most of whom are orphans - all of whom are in need, come from the area of Belarus where the Chernobyl nuclear accident took place in 1986. Area doctors and dentists provide free medical and dental care. The children get to enjoy being part of a loving family while their bodies’ immunity system is built back up. The children are sent back to Belarus with clothing and school supplies for the coming year.
